1. Introduction

At Yumm (yummglobal.com) we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are. By using our platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when creating an account: name, email address, username, and password (stored in encrypted form). We also collect content you post, such as reviews and photos. When you use the add restaurant feature, we may request access to your GPS location to record the establishment's coordinates. We do not collect your location without your explicit consent.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and maintain our services; allow you to post reviews and claim businesses; send account verification and password reset emails; improve the platform and user experience; communicate with you about your account or service changes; and prevent fraud and unauthorized activities.

4. Sharing Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. Your name, profile photo, and reviews are publicly visible on the platform. We may share information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Yumm and its users. We use Resend for sending transactional emails (account verification, password reset).

5. Storage and Security

Your information is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (PostgreSQL). Passwords are stored using bcrypt encryption and are never saved in plain text. We use HTTPS for all communications between your browser and our servers. While we implement reasonable security measures, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use essential cookies to keep your session active and remember your language preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. We do not share browsing data with advertising networks.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to: access your personal information through your profile; modify or update your name, username, and profile photo; request the deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us via email; and withdraw your consent for GPS location use at any time through your browser settings.

8. Children

Yumm is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not intentionally collect information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will take effect when published on this page with a new update date. We recommend reviewing this policy regularly.
